SINGLE REVIEW: KERRI WATT - PREDICTABLE

KERRI WATT - PREDICTABLE

Perfectly timed to arrive in time for her appearances at C2C 2024 is Kerri Watt with her new single "Predictable". As ever the lady that stopped us in our tracks during her last C2C performance is anything but predictable with a neat modern sounding take on a Country tune.

Opening to a strumming electric guitar while another plays in the background Kerri seeks to expose the myth that relationships must be mad and chaotic to thrive - the opening verse contrasts the 2 different options, quickly shunning one option

"Staying out till the sun comes up

Then they're done after the rush

That life ain't for us!"

Kerri finds solace in a more relaxed way

"Coming home from a long long week

In the door kick the shoes right off my feet

It's only you and me

But we don't need even have to speak

Look the way we do this life

Every day and every night"

But don't mix predictable with being dull as Kerri will later reveal "When we get to play pretend"

There's a definite air of confidence in Kerri's delivery and she has all the qualities required to front this searing pop country production. The chorus is a thumping pop singalong with a mass a voices, pianos and guitars that all meld together in one wall of sound.

The chorus ends with Kerri revealing when predictable goes out of the window!

But when the moon comes up

Our songs on and i'm feeling your touch

It's the only time at all

"I want unpredictable"

With a prominent guitar solo this is about as pop perfect as it gets!

Kerri Watt will perform at C2C London on March 8 (Big Entrance Stage 2pm, Icon stage 5pm) and March 9 at 2:30pm on Observatory stage.
