Sarah Darling's Campfire Sessions of songs that have influenced her over the years continue to richly reward and it is fast becoming the favourite email of the month when news of a new one hits the inbox. January's choice will be familiar to many, "Cowboy Take Me Away" by the Dixie Chicks is a regular go to song for a number of UK Country artists so it was going to be interesting to see what Sarah could do to make it different.

Sarah has once again invoked the Campfire spirit, with a deceptively simple acoustic version that almost puts us around the campfire with her, out on the prairie able to " look at the horizon and not see a building standing tall". There are faintly and unobtrusively some other instruments but it is mainly just some guitars, some echo and the key instrument of Sarah's voice - what more do you need?
