Country In The Afternoon Returns to The Half Moon Putney for Its 15th Edition

Two-day festival in May showcases the best of country and Americana music with international and UK artists

Putney, London — Country In The Afternoon is back at The Half Moon Putney for its 15th edition on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 2026, promising two afternoons of exceptional country and Americana music. Each day will feature four standout artists, reflecting the diversity and depth of the genres.

Saturday, 16th May

The festival kicks off at 1pm with award-winning singer-songwriter Chris Fox. Known for his rich vocals, intricate guitar work, and innovative loop pedal performances, Fox blends folk, Americana, country, and blues in a genre-defying style that captivates audiences with both humor and thought-provoking storytelling.

At 2pm, the Dave Burn Band takes the stage. A pioneer of UK alt-country, Burn has played in bands since his teens and brings influences from Brit folk, American singer-songwriters, and classic London indie to his literary and evocative songs. He has collaborated with numerous artists, including Danny & The Champions Of The World and Blair Dunlop, and continues to innovate within the UK Americana scene.

The 3pm slot features Kylie Price, whose music fuses introspective lyricism with catchy hooks. Originally from New Zealand, Price has made a mark in London with sold-out shows at venues like Green Note in Camden and a series of charting singles in her homeland, reflecting her unique blend of Kiwi and Filipino influences.

The day culminates at 4pm with Nashville-based Ryan Kinder, known for his soulful vocals, guitar prowess, and dynamic storytelling. With over 100 million streams and collaborations with artists such as John Fogerty and Zac Brown Band, Kinder’s latest album, Heirloom, continues to explore introspection and authenticity within the country-rock genre.

Sunday, 17th May

Sunday opens at 1pm with Glasgow-based Anton O'Donnell. Armed with acoustic guitar and harmonica, O’Donnell’s whiskey-soaked voice and incisive lyrics have won acclaim across Europe and the US, delivering performances that combine soul, blues, folk, and rock.

At 2pm, 2024 BCMA Horizon Artist of the Year Kacie Rigby brings her authentic country sound to the stage. Known for her single “Past Life Cowgirl,” Rigby has built an impressive international profile, including performances at C2C and The Long Road, as well as recording sessions in Nashville. Her music combines thoughtful lyrics and melodic richness, appealing to fans of Kacey Musgraves and Taylor Swift alike.

The 3pm slot features the London debut of Ally Row, a duo from Victoria, Australia, whose high-energy shows combine intricate instrumentation with soaring harmonies. Winners of national competitions including Triple J Unearthed, Ally Row have released a debut album, Something More, which charted at #5 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart.

The festival closes at 4pm with SJ Mortimer, lead singer of award-winning band Morganway. Praised for her powerhouse vocals and magnetic stage presence, Mortimer’s solo material recorded in Muscle Shoals promises a bold fusion of country, folk, and soul. Her extensive touring and multiple BCMA awards underline her status as a standout performer in the contemporary Americana scene.

With its mix of international stars and UK talents, Country In The Afternoon continues to celebrate the breadth and depth of country and Americana music in an intimate, afternoon festival format.
