COUNTDOWN TO COUNTRY CALLING 2026 - MACARTNEY REINHARDT

The appearance of Macartney Reinhardt at Country Calling is the fruition of five years support and encouragement from #TEAMw21. That we found her at such an early stage is down to the hard work and perseverance that #TEAMw21 put in to find new talent. Her opening single "Shadows" is remarkable for someone at the time still a teenager, it followed none of the expected rules and so immediately caught our attention. Even now the opening words have such a resonance
"Every one has their fears and their ghosts
But mine just won't quit haunting me
Everybody tells me "Let it go"
Don't know how strong I'd have to be"
The only other release we could find at the time was an Elliott Smith cover of "Twilight", which considering that he died in 2003 was equally an odd choice and with lyrics like
"You don't deserve to be lonely
But those drugs you got won't make you feel better"
it only piqued our interest more.
Since then Macartney has hit an unbroken run of excellent singles, the subject matter not always your standard fare, the key thing is that there always seems to be development, whether it be her songwriting or overall sound, she is always pushing forward.
In 2024 in Nashville, we finally got to meet Macartney and see her play a Songwriters Round and it was all that we had hoped for and meeting her afterwards, she was super sweet and polite, to this team of complete strangers who she knew were cheering her every move on from afar.
She has a fabulous work ethic and is often found playing around Nashville and her home state of Georgia continually honing her talents
If all this was not fantastic enough, just after Christmas last year Macartney posted a video explaining quite what a miracle it is that she is here at all to perform for us. We could summarise it but think it's best for you to hear it in her own words.
Bringing you tomorrow's stars today is very much the ethos of Country Calling and in Macartney Reinhardt you are definitely seeing one
Saturday 15th August will see her make her UK Festival debut
