Lauren Ray - Dull Ache

Lauren Ray's star is well and truly on the rise, having completed 2 nationwide support slots with Rebecca Ferguson and Lucy Spraggan and now a European tour with Anastacia she still manages to release effortlessly wonderful singles.

"Dull Ache" shows a development in sound from her debut LP "We Must Have Courage", that started to emerge on her "2 Days" single prior to Christmas.

The tune is uplifting and infectious and provides a perfect counterpoint to the lyrical content

As with her debut LP, Lauren more often than not deals with subjects rarely touched on by others, indeed this song finds its inspiration after hearing of a woman describe her grief as a dull ache that never goes away, after losing someone she loved unexpectedly overnight. "the day everything changed". It deals with the emptiness of life afterwards where she is left "Healing in the room we used to dream in". With a male singer providing backing vocals, making it almost a duet on the chorus, it becomes poignant as if her partner is still with her.

There is an EP scheduled to follow and Lauren and no doubt her keyboard will be checking in to Buckle & Boots in June for a not to be missed slot!!
