This is the first material from James Perryman's' new EP The Narrow Gate which is due for release in April 2018. It opens pretty simply with just voice and acoustic guitar, and effectively adds remarkably little else apart from some echoing backing vocals and perhaps a second acoustic guitar and yet the end result seems so much more. This is pure singer songwriting, with James's voice capturing the right level of bemusement at his situation "you ain't got no time for me today as i'm just trying to be myself".
The song has a quiet melancholy about it that grows with repeated plays. Both the single and the EP are co-produced by The Honey Ants frontman, John Grimsey.who has done a great job capturing the sound.
